Requiring & Enabling Scale Weight for Items

To enable a product to be weighed for final price, follow the instructions below. To illustrate how to do this, we're going to create an item called Zucchini that costs $1.99/lb. We want the scale to register the weight and apply that weight to our set price per pound.

1. From the back office dashboard, click Items
2. Click Create Item
3. Name your item Zucchini (lb)
4. Set your category and tax class
5. Enter your price - this is the per weight unit price
6. In Custom Qty choose Enabled: this will force the POS to ask for how many units
7. In Weigh on Scale choose Enabled: this will allow you to tap a button on the POS screen to register the custom quantity from the scale or you can manually enter the weight for non-integrated scales
8. Click Save
